About me

David Fitzgerald – I am a cellist, singer, performer, composer and teacher with skills from a professional career in music, theatre and dance. I have a music PGCE and 20 years experience of teaching in Primary and Secondary schools, Music Hubs and giving private lessons for individuals of all ages

I began my cello journey with a classical education, studying with Martin Bochmann at Reading University and playing in the Reading and Berkshire Youth Orchestras.  After then studying music and composition (with Nigel Osborne) at Nottingham University I took a career turn and began playing with JazzPunk trio THE POINTY BIRDS, (with celebrated Bass virtuoso John Edwards), playing at festivals and prestigious venues round Europe, winning awards and teaming up with dance troupe, THE CHOLMONDELEYS.
